What is a Chemical Peel?

Chemical peeling is a highly effective skincare treatment offered by Dermax Spa. It involves the application of a specialized solution to the skin, which helps remove the top layer of skin cells. This resurfacing procedure is designed to exfoliate the skin, revealing a refreshed and rejuvenated complexion.

Chemical peels are primarily performed on the face, neck, or hands and can address a range of skin concerns, such as uneven skin coloring, rough patches, dull complexion, and certain precancerous spots called actinic keratosis.

How does it work?

At Dermax Spa, our skilled professionals perform chemical peels using a selection of carefully chosen chemical solutions. These solutions, such as glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, or carbolic acid (phenol), are applied to the skin to induce a controlled injury that penetrates different depths. This process prompts the skin to peel away, unveiling a new layer of skin.

Our spa offers different types of chemical peels tailored to individual skincare needs. A light peel targets the outer layer of skin (epidermis) and is ideal for treating wrinkles, acne, dry skin, and uneven skin tone. Medium peels go deeper, removing skin cells from the epidermis and portions of the upper dermis. They are particularly effective for addressing acne scars, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. Deep peels are reserved for more intensive treatment, penetrating into the dermis mid to lower layers, and are recommended for deeper wrinkles, precancerous growths, or significant scarring.
